What are Personal Development Seminars?
A personal development seminar is an experience, which can bring about change in the areas where you want to improve or develop. These areas could be related to work, money, personal relationships or just plain self-satisfaction and happiness. Personal development seminars can help you understand how important change is and why this change is good for you and your current situation. When facilitated correctly they should bring about transformational thinking and actions for sustainable long-term change.
What to expect in Personal Development Seminars
There will be people like you attending/taking the course. So expect to meet different kinds of people who can empathize and synergize and offer some insights, which can help you, attain your goal, and vice versa. The seminar may let you work as a team, wherein each participant of this course helps each other to have awareness and understanding on the areas where they want to change. This is what we call an immersion experience. However, for those who are too busy to attend these types of seminars, but want change in their lives, there are a number of companies that offer value based ‘home study courses’.
There are different kinds of methods taught in personal development seminars, which can assist you in changing the way you think and feel about yourself and the way you relate to your world. Therefore, this change can influence the way you see and feel about others. Expect that the personal development seminar can help you achieve what you want to be or what you want to do with your life. You can find the purpose of your life and the direction you want to take which can lead to self-awareness and lasting inner peace and happiness.
Personal Development Seminars vs. Self-Help Books
Most people especially those who are really busy, just look for and buy self-help books. These books are very accessible yet may not be as effective as attending a live personal development seminar. As much as these books provide useful information, they do not have trained facilitators to assist and guide you through and experience therefore you are missing the value of the immersion approach.
On the other hand, personal development seminars have trained facilitators who can answer the questions you might have or who can relate to what you are going through. They can understand where you are coming from. These facilitators usually have allowed change to come into their lives, and devoted their lives to helping others do the same.
Change comes from within. You have the power to change your life, to choose how to live your life. You are the only one who can change your life in whatever manner you choose for you are the one living it. So, whatever changes you want to make, personal development seminars can assist you in so many areas and in so many ways, however it will ultimately come down to your decision to take back control of your life. You can apply the methods you have learned from the personal development seminar throughout your life, bringing forth a new you and living with more meaning and fulfillment.

Drew,
I have found so much benefit from reading and books and listening to audios but I have to say nothing compares to the quantum leap changes that have occurred in my life when I have attended seminars and workshops. There is something about the interaction and the energy of a whole group coming together that is so powerful– those time have become touchstones and landmark events in my life that are so profound.
Thank you for bringing up this discussion– i hope it will inspire many to take action.
